The Story of Douglas

Douglas was my bright light in every day. His “always there for me” will forever be missed. He was such a clown, so full of personality and love. It seems like he became ill overnight. I’m sure that’s not the case. Not with cancer anyway. He was diagnosed with Lymphoma in March 2015. We did everything we could to help bring him relief and comfort. On June 8th, he passed away.

I know the burdens people are faced with in these circumstances. NO ONE should have to say no to treatment for a family member.

The Douglas Fund has seen another year! Actually, this is probably our first real year in action and what a year it has been! We have saved a life! Everyone remembers Bruce and the corn cob!!

We have given families hope and continued time with their fur family members.

And yet, some families have been faced with goodbyes.

I never anticipated the emotions that would come with this “job”.   I was so focused on the business side that it just never occurred to me that I would shed so many tears.  Tears of triumph and tears of loss.

We cannot say it enough. This organization is all about you, the donors. We just take the calls…you all support every aspect of our success. There are no words to express our gratitude.

Prayers for great things for all of you!  Thank you all!
